My Story

After just getting married having a wonderful honeymoon the last thing you would expect is for your hair to start falling out. This is unfortunately what happened to me!

I have decided to start doing a blog as the more the months went on I realised that firstly there is very little information that the Doctors can do and secondly there is very little support around to help. I hope that writing this blog might be able to either help a few people or at least let others know you are not alone going through this.

In July 2015, I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areta which is an auto-immune disease. It is a process in your body where your body thinks that your hair is a bacteria in your body and therefore rejects it.

This blog will go through some of the adventures and high and lows which I hope you will enjoy and help some other alopecia sufferers.

  1. I have AA universalis, over a 3 month period I lost every stand of hair on my body… It is in some cases treatable! I’ve recovered a good deal of my hair over the last 12 months of JAK inhibitor Tofacitinib treatment. Look into it.
